This time the sales were on books.
Fictionwise had a 40% off sale on all books until the end of the year. Of course, I missed it (must have been on Steam too much), and paid full price on two new Destroyer books less than a day after the sale was over.
Drive-Thru RPG (also known as RPGNow) had twenty+ big name RPGs on sale until the 7th (today). I dropped $10 on Mutant City Blues. Then I went back and dropped $10 more on Battlestar Galactica: The Roleplaying Game. Then I started getting cold feet with the amount of money I’ve spent, and toyed with getting Fading Suns and the Iron Kingdom Character Guide. Before I knew it, I had a couple of other games I’d toyed around with in my cart- Artesia, and Runepunk. Hero 6th somehow found its way into my cart also, though Artesia dropped out. Today, I finally decided on three games- Fading Suns, Mutants and Masterminds 2nd, and Starblazer Adventures (I know… quite the change). Then, when I added Starblazer, I saw that the price had jumped to almost $100! I went to the home page, and saw that the sale had been removed, even though up until that point, the timer said I had about a day left! Perturbed, I e-mailed customer support. I almost immediately got a response, and coupons to get the sale prices on the three items I was going to buy. Way to go Drive-Thru RPG! That’s customer service!
